Our Missionaries
We firmly believe that the purpose of the church is to reach the world with the good news of the Gospel of Christ. In order to do this, we must reach out to our community, to our area, and around the world. To that end, we assist in the support of the following Missions: (Please Note: Additional information and Bios of our missionaries will be available soon. We appreciate your patience while our site remains under construction. A list of our missionaries follows, and any additional information we currently have will follow the list in the same order.)
Baptist Youth Camp Baptist Youth Camp is the shared ministry of the East Association, American Baptist Churches of Maine. Baptist Youth Camp offers a wide variety of camping opportunities for all ages. BYC is located in the peaceful area of Charlotte, Maine with shore frontage on beautiful lake Pennamaquan. The rustic facilities allow one to get away from the rush of the world and to observe and appreciate God's incredible creation. Baptist Youth Camp's desire is to provide a place and programs that will allow campers to experience the fullness of Christ. Whether you come for the day, or for the entire summer, BYC's prayer is that your life will never be the same. Allison Chamberland Allison was born in Bitburg, Germany, and moved with her family to Ellsworth, Maine when she was seven years old. At the age of four, she had asked the Lord Jesus Christ into her heart. After graduating as Valedictorian of her class at Ellsworth High School, she attended Elmira College in Elmira, New York where she earned degrees in French, History, and International Relations. While a student at Elmira, Allison learned of a mission called Campus Target. Campus Target is a fairly new mission which was started by two young men who went to China and saw the eed to reach Asian college campuses for Jesus Christ. It's goal is to ignite church planting movements on every campus in a major Asian country. It is their vision to see a multiplying church on every key university in that country by 2020. Having sought God's direction for her life, Allison felt that the Holy Spirit was leading her to the mission field in China with Campus Target. Allison served with Campus Target for the past two years in Kunming in western China. This year (2010 - 2011) Allison is attending college in Harbin, in northern China - near the Russian border - where she is studying the language full time in order to become more effective on the mission field.
